NICE Review of Neurofeedback Delayed

You may be aware that NICE were due to review their guidelines for ADHD in September 2014. This was due to include a review of the Case for Neurofeedback on the NHS that we put together that highlighted both the clinical evidence for Neuroffedback for ADHD and the cost saving opportunity against the background of increasing medication costs. Prescription numbers 1995-2012

Well since September has been and gone we asked NICE when we might find out the results, and the friendly Project Manager at NICE have informed us that the review has been postponed to November and the results of the review will be published by the first quarter of 2015.

We appreciate that NICE have lots of other things to worry about but we have our fingers crossed that there won’t be any further delays – if the NHS could save £320m over the next 5 years any delay costs the tax payer up to £5.3m a month !
